Job Description Assured Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Austin, Texas. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 02/22/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Required Experience: Minimum of one year of ICU experience. Summary: The ICU RN provides comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult patients requiring continuous monitoring, advanced interventions, and complex clinical decision-making. The RN functions as a patient advocate, clinical expert, and collaborative team member within a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Key Responsibilities: - Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. - Care for critically ill adult patients, including those requiring mechanical ventilation, vasoactive infusions, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and post-operative or post-procedural critical care. - Perform ongoing, detailed patient assessments and reassessments. - Interpret and respond to cardiac rhythms, lab results, arterial blood gases, and hemodynamic data. - Titrate medications per provider orders and unit protocols. - Identify subtle changes in patient condition and initiate timely interventions. - Manage emergency situations, including codes, rapid deterioration, and complex procedures. Ideal Candidate Profile: Good communication, proactive nature, strong initiative, integrity, responsibility, commitment to patient and family advocacy, problem-solving skills, good teamwork, and a foundational knowledge of pathophysiology.
