Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Acute / Long-Term Care (LTC) – Day Shift Job Type: Contract Position Urgency: Normal Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) Duration: 13-week assignment Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) partners with residents and interdisciplinary care teams to create a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment. This role involves providing both direct and indirect nursing care while promoting comfort, dignity, and quality of life for post-acute and long-term care residents. Units & Patient Population • Specialized Memory Care Unit: Provides care to residents with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, emphasizing both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques to address cognitive and behavioral needs in a home-like long-term care setting. • Transitional Rehabilitation Unit: A short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation unit supporting patients recovering from surgeries, fractures, strokes, and other acute conditions. Nursing care may include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessments. • Long-Term Care Unit: Delivers comprehensive nursing care to residents requiring long-term placement in a residential environment. Key Responsibilities • Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in accordance with established standards and protocols • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams • Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and provide ongoing care • Float between units as needed based on operational and patient care needs • Maintain accurate documentation using an electronic medical record system Job Requirements Education: • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) Licensure: • Active State of Maine RN license or compact RN license • Candidates with licensure hits will not be considered Experience: • 1–3 years of RN experience preferred • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required Certifications: • BLS/BCLS required Skills & Qualifications: • Medical terminology knowledge preferred • Strong communication and teamwork skills • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays • Willingness to float to other units as needed Additional Information • Previous employees are not eligible for consideration • Up to 16 hours of orientation may be unpaid • Holiday coverage required • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius • Local travelers may be subject to a reduced local rate • EMR system used: EPIC Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
