This role involves providing patient care in a dynamic medical-surgical environment, specifically on the 3E unit which focuses on post-operative surgical care, transitioning to the 5E unit after initial training. Shift Details • Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, Friday to Sunday, totaling 36 hours per week. • Weekend Requirements: Must be available as scheduled, including holiday rotation. • Floating Requirements: May be required to float to various campuses in the area, including Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran Hospital, and Methodist West Hospital. Qualifications • Experience: Minimum of 24 months of current experience in Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) or Med Surg Telemetry required. • Travel Experience: First-time travelers are welcome but must have completed at least one travel contract within the last 18 months. • Patient Care Skillset: Proficiency in caring for a variety of medical-surgical patients essential. • Technical Skills: Experience with EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) and heparin administration required. • Telemetry Skills: Background in telemetry and cardiac care is preferred. • Licensure: Must hold an active Iowa nursing license or a compact/multistate license at the time of application. • Certifications: Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required. Additional Information • Orientation Date: March 2nd (mandatory). • Candidates must be flexible and willing to extend beyond the initial 13-week assignment. • May have opportunities to mentor and orient new team members as needed. Profile Requirements Candidates must provide a comprehensive work history that demonstrates the required experience and qualifications. Professional references from relevant supervisory roles within the past 24 months are preferred.
