Schedule: Every other weekend; block schedule may be accommodated

Position Overview
This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Med-Surg/Telemetry unit, including oncology patients. The RN will provide patient-centered care, floating within the specialty or lower acuity units as needed. The unit has 40 beds, caring for adolescents (Tanner score >4), adults, and geriatrics. Nurses must be comfortable with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio. Orientation includes 24 hours of non-billable training. First-time travelers are accepted.
Requirements
Licensure: Active MD RN License or Compact License – Required (Must be in-hand at submission)
Experience: Minimum 2 years recent RN experience required
Patient Ratio Experience: 1:5
Travel Experience: Not required but preferred
Teaching Hospital Experience: Preferred
Local Radius Rule: Candidate must live at least 50 miles from the hospital
Certifications
• BLS (AHA) – Required
• ACLS (AHA) – Required
• CPI – Required
• NIHSS – Preferred
Charting System
• Preferred: Epic

• IV therapy / Phlebotomy
• Central / Peripheral Line Care (PICC, other lines)

• Tracheostomy care
• Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
• Feeding tube care and management
• Medications: Cardizem drip, Heparin drip, PCA
Other Skills:
• Telemetry monitoring
• Rapid Response / Code Team participation
• Isolation precautions
• Wound Care / Wound Vac
• Floating within specialty or lower acuity units

Special Procedures / Unit Details: Telemetry, EKGs, IV therapy, drips (Cardizem, Heparin), PCA/PCEA, Capnography
Scheduling
Float Required: Yes – within specialty and lower acuity as needed
Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
