Responsibilities Hospital-based Med/Surg overflow unit with adolescent to geriatric patient population Care for patients undergoing total hip, knee, and shoulder arthroplasty, as well as trauma cases 27-bed unit with an average daily census of 24 and a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Required to work every other weekend Floating may be required within the facility No on-call responsibilities Uses Epic for charting, Pyxis for medication dispensing, and SBAR for communication Care for a broad patient population including adolescents through geriatrics with a focus on orthopedic and trauma cases First-time travelers are welcome to apply Navy blue scrubs required Maximum of 7 days of requested time off, none allowed during first assignment week If one major holiday falls during the assignment, traveler must work it; two holidays, traveler must work both; three holidays, traveler must work two Must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year to return as a traveler Travel pairs are not permitted to work the same shift in the same unit No blocked scheduling allowed Full compliance required to start on time due to bi-weekly orientation schedule Local candidates are accepted at the same rate Requirements Active GA or compact RN license Minimum one year of recent Med/Surg RN experience Current BLS certification Ability to care for post-arthroplasty, trauma, and medical-surgical patients Familiarity with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-661582.
