Job Details
• Med/Surge Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles.
• Responsibilities include consulting and coordinating with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications orally, subcutaneously, or through an IV and record them.
• Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments according to policy.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment home care needs.
• Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action for adverse symptomatology.
• Provide bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examination and treatment of patients.
• Respond to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol.
• Participate in discharge planning.
• Utilize time management skills.
• Record all care information concisely, accurately, and completely in a timely manner.
• Perform other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.
Job Requirements
• Must have Idaho RN or multi-state compact license attached to resume.
• Must have BLS certification through the American Heart Association attached to submission.
• Must have 2 years Med/Surg experience in a hospital setting.
