Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health Location: Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital (NNRH) – Elko, NV Type: Travel Assignment
Overview
Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital in Elko, NV is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment. The RN will provide compassionate and effective care to patients with psychiatric and behavioral health needs, ensuring safety, therapeutic engagement, and adherence to treatment plans.
Responsibilities
• Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Behavioral Health unit
• Conduct patient assessments, monitor progress, and document care accurately
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Support patients and families through education and therapeutic communication
• Respond to psychiatric emergencies and de-escalate crisis situations using appropriate interventions
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada (or compact license eligible)
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient Behavioral Health experience; 2 years preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and crisis intervention skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities
• Required Certifications: RN license, BLS; Handle with Care preferred
• Experience with electronic medical records systems; Meditech experience preferred
• Required Education: Associates of Nursing
Assignment Details
• Contract length: 13 weeks, with potential for extension
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM DAYS
Weekend Hours: Every-other weekend rotation
