Shift Type: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour nights); 12-hour shifts, 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks; holidays worked per unit rotation
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
• Provide high-acuity nursing care for CVICU/CTICU patients, including post-cardiac surgery and transplant patients
• Manage advanced therapies such as ECMO, CRRT, IABP and ventilator support with precision and compassion
• Recognize and respond to cardiac dysrhythmias; perform dysrhythmia monitoring and interpretation
• Perform and supervise invasive bedside procedures (central line care, Foley insertion, Swan-Ganz management) while maintaining sterile technique
• Collaborate closely with intensivists, the multidisciplinary team, and 24/7 RT/pharmacy to optimize patient outcomes
• Complete required competency assessments and pass SIMs Lab skills checks on orientation day
• Safely float to other ICUs and Tele units as needed, maintaining high standards across settings
• Serve as a patient advocate and ensure accurate Cerner charting and handoffs
Qualifications
• Current, active RN license (able to submit) for practice
• Minimum 2 years of ICU/CVICU or critical care nursing experience
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Must have Level I trauma experience
• Strong IV skills; experience with central line dressing changes and Foley catheter insertion
• Experience with ECMO, CRRT, IABP, and post-CABG care is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry systems
• Willingness to complete and pass dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts allowed) and SIMs Lab on day 1 of orientation
• Travel requirements: reliable vehicle for travel teams and flexibility to float to Westgate campus if requested
• Facility appearance and fit-test requirements (e.g., no facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit testing)
Education
• Active RN license (required)
• BSN not required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CCRN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
• Cardiac ICU/CVICU clinical expertise and high-acuity patient management
• Dysrhythmia recognition and monitoring
• Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
• ECMO management and care
• Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) operation and patient care
• Invasive line care: central lines, Swan-Ganz catheter management, port-a-cath familiarity
• Strong IV insertion and peripheral access skills
• Sterile field maintenance and procedural competence
• Telemetry monitoring (Phillips) and critical alarm management
• Cerner electronic medical record proficiency
