Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,310 - $2,470 CVICU RN Job Details – Illinois Healthcare Jobs Location: Peoria, Illinois (61637) Facility Setting: Acute Cardiac Intermediate Unit (CVICU) Job Type: Travel Nursing Assignment Start Date: December 8, 2025 End Date: March 9, 2026 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7p-7a), 3 shifts/week, rotating weekends and holidays Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week Unit Size: 20 private, monitored beds Charting System: EPIC Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Illinois RN license or proof of application Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or Cardiac ICU nursing experience BLS certification (AHA required) ACLS preferred; CCRN or PCCN certification a plus Skilled in titrating cardiac drips and interpreting cardiac strips Ability to float to ICU and stepdown units Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills Experience working in fast-paced, high-stress healthcare environments Negative drug screen required CVICU RN Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care to cardiac stepdown and ICU patients with complex cardiovascular conditions Manage and titrate multiple cardiac drips (dopamine, dobutamine, levophed, epinephrine, norepinephrine, vasopressin, cleviprex, propofol, fentanyl, versed, insulin, heparin, esmolol, etc.) Monitor and interpret cardiac strips using Philips monitoring systems Operate and manage specialty equipment (Swan Ganz, external pacemakers, PICC, midlines, CVC, arterial lines, ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow oxygen) Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care technicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members Float to other units and manage full patient assignments as needed Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC Demonstrate compassion, teamwork, and a positive attitude in all patient interactions
