Travel Nurse Job Details Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan (ZIP 49007) Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract Start Date: February 23, 2026 Shift: Day shifts, 4x10-hour (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM), 40 hours/week Call Requirement: 12-18 days/month Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekends per month Unit: Surgery (20-5700), 21 operating rooms, daily census of 80-100 cases Orientation: 8 hours, plus annual modules Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience required CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) experience required Proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting Experience in cardiac surgery (3s or 4s preferred) BLS certification required Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions accepted) References required Previous travel nurse experience and Level I trauma experience preferred OR RN Responsibilities Assist in a variety of surgical procedures: cardiac, thoracic, orthopedic, vascular, gynecological, general, and pediatric surgeries Perform endoscopic vein harvesting with proficiency Provide general department First Assist coverage when cardiac cases are not scheduled Float to other surgical specialties as needed Participate in call rotation and weekend coverage as part of the surgical team Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, and transportation Utilize advanced surgical technology, including XI robots and endovascular suites Take the next step in your nursing career with this rewarding travel nurse opportunity in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
