BLS (AHA) certification
ACLS (AHA) certification
PALS (AHA) certification
Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room or critical care nursing experience
Experience with Meditech charting system
Preferred: Previous charge nurse and community hospital experience
Experience with 4:1 patient ratio
Ability to float in rotation with staff as needed
Travel nurses must live more than 70 miles from Silver City, NM (locals not accepted)
COVID-19 vaccine not required
Not eligible if employed as permanent staff within the last 2 years
Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced ER environment
Perform triage, assessment, and treatment for trauma, cardiac, respiratory, psychiatric, and medical emergencies
Administer medications and emergency interventions
Monitor and manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
Interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac dysrhythmias
Care for ventilated patients, perform procedural sedation, and manage central lines, chest tubes, and arterial lines
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and support staff
Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech
Follow hospital policies, Joint Commission standards, and infection control protocols
Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
