Cardiac ICU Nursing Job Details
• Location: New Haven, CT 06510 (Connecticut nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Short Term Acute Care, Cardiac ICU (14 beds)
• Contract Type: Travel Nursing (ICU RN travel contract)
• Shift: Night, 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/21/2025 – End: 2/20/2026)
• Patient Ratio: 1:2 (Days/Nights/Weekends)
• Charting System: Epic
• Parking: On-site ($125/month)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1880–$2020
Registered Nurse Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience (1.5 years accepted from Level I trauma centers or large hospitals)
• Active Registered Nurse license (Connecticut RN license required; must apply prior to start)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Proficiency with PA catheters (Swan Ganz)
• First-time travel nurses welcome
• Ability to float to ICU and PCU units as needed
• One professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Local candidates (within 75 miles) not accepted
ICU RN Responsibilities
• Deliver critical care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac and vascular diagnoses (STEMI/NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, unstable dysrhythmias, advanced heart failure, post-cardiac arrest)
• Manage PA catheters and participate in device review prior to start
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Perform airway management and care for ventilated patients
• Interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias
• Assist with BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula management
• Float to ICU and PCU units as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care
• Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions
