Travel ICU Nurse Job Details Location: University Hospital, Madison, WI 53792 (Wisconsin healthcare jobs) Employment Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 2/23/2026 - End: 5/25/2026) Setting: Critical Care Float Pool (ICU, Neuro ICU, CV/CT ICU, Burn, Trauma, MSICU, IMC/Progressive units) Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30), every other weekend & holiday rotation required Hours per Week: 36 Orientation: Approximately 1 week (28 hours) Parking: Permit required; alternative transportation options available ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications Active WI RN license or compact state nursing license (must be in hand at submittal) Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience (adult populations) Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma Center required Previous 13-week travel nurse assignment preferred BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association required) Epic charting experience required (within last 12 months preferred) Basic Arrhythmia and Telemetry experience; must pass telemetry exam prior to start TNCC and NIHSS certifications preferred Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility ICU Nurse Responsibilities Float between multiple ICU and progressive care units based on staffing needs Deliver high-quality critical care nursing to adult and geriatric patients Manage advanced devices and therapies: ECMO, IABP, Impella, CVP, EVD, CRRT, ventilators, and more Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, cardiac drips, and telemetry monitoring Perform advanced procedures: wound care, central/arterial line management, blood product administration, sedation, and emergency medication administration Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, rapid response) Support shared governance and participate in ongoing professional development Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled Discover why Madison, WI is a top destination for travel nurses-enjoy a thriving arts scene, beautiful parks, lakeside activities, and a welcoming community while working at a nationally recognized hospital.
