Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty : ICU - Intensive Care Unit Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12H Nights Hours per Shift : 12 hours Experience : 2 years of critical care experience License : Active RN License Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have : Must have at least 1 year of critical care experience. Prior travel experience preferred. Must be competent with CRRT, IABP, vents, post-code / therapeutic hypothermia. Skilled with all vasoactive medications, sedation, and paralytics. Description : The unit has 18 beds, all private rooms with negative pressure capability for COVID patients. Ratios typically 1 : 2, with CRRT / Organ Donation at 1 : 1. May stretch to 1 : 3 in overflow or stepdown situations. Average daily census is 13. RNs are responsible for titrating all critical care medications within ordered parameters. ICU RNs also perform care and removal of central lines. There are 1-2 PCTs depending on census and staffing. An intensivist is available from 7 AM to 7 PM daily, with residents also present. Hospitalist provides overnight coverage. Respiratory therapy support is available 24 / 7 in the ICU. RNs are responsible for monitoring and interpreting telemetry strips. Self-scheduling and block scheduling are allowed based on unit needs. Weekend requirement is every other weekend, both days and nights. Floating to stepdown and MedSurg is required as needed. Scrub color is royal blue, with specific dress code guidelines. Two shifts of general / floor orientation are required upon arrival. A pharmacist is present in the unit daily from 7 AM to 4 : 30 PM.
