Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (November 17, 2025 – February 14, 2026)
• Healthcare Setting: Medical-Surgical/Orthopedics (60% ortho, 40% general medical)
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirements: 2-3 weekends per month, based on unit needs
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680-$1800
• Travel Nursing Experience: Prior travel RN experience required

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or Compact State (required upon start)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• BLS certification (required)
• Complete work history with all gaps over 90 days explained
• Current skills checklist and copy of Nursys/license
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible for this travel RN job

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients on a busy Med/Surg Orthopedics unit
• Provide clinical care for both orthopedic and general medical patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other nursing units as needed, based on facility requirements
• Accurately document all patient care activities in the electronic medical record
• Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training as required
