Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Colebrook, New Hampshire.

Unit Overview
# of Beds: 12
Patient Types: CHF, COPD, pneumonia, cardiac arrhythmias, sepsis.
Most surgical patients transfer out; surgeon is on-site only 2 days per week.
Environment: Very friendly, team-oriented facility. Flexibility and strong teamwork are essential. Travelers must be willing to adjust schedules and work as needed.
Staffing & Ratios
RN Ratios: 1:4–6
Charge RN: Yes; role depends on census. Typically does not take patients and is available to assist the ER as needed.
Nurse Aides: Yes, each shift.
Certifications
Required: BLS, ACLS
Preferred: PALS
Equipment & Skills
EMR: CPSI
Telemetry: Central monitoring with tele packs
Do nurses read strips? No monitor tech; RNs must read and interpret strips (ED nurse may also assist)
Drip Management: RNs must be able to titrate drips.
Pressors may be used temporarily until transfer
Common drips: Heparin, Nitro, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Insulin
Vent Management: No vents in this unit
IV Team: None—strong IV skills preferred
PICC lines placed by provider during daytime
Respiratory Care: No RT in-house; nurses perform all treatments (BiPAP, breathing treatments, etc.)
ER nurse can serve as a resource
Pharmacy:
On-site pharmacist until 3 PM
Tele-pharmacy available after hours
RN may need to mix meds if ordered after hours
Scheduling
Shift: 7 AM – 7:30 PM / 7 PM – 7:30 AM
Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend (or more as needed)
Holidays: Rotates with permanent staff
Scrubs: Any professional, appropriate color
Other Requirements
Float: Yes, within the facility based on unit needs and traveler qualifications
Orientation: 1 shift with a preceptor
Hospitalist Coverage:
ER covered 24/7
