Med/Surg RN Job Details Location: Kearney, Nebraska (Zip: 68845) – Nebraska nursing jobs Assignment Length: 13-week travel nurse contract Healthcare Setting: Acute Care, Medical-Surgical Unit (23 beds) Nursing Shifts: 12-hour nights (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM), every other weekend required Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Start Date: December 22, 2025 End Date: March 23, 2026 Charting System: EPIC EMR Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state (Registered Nurse) Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) NIHSS certification Ability to float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for Med/Surg assignments Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical support skills Med/Surg RN Responsibilities Provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to Medical-Surgical patients Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress using EPIC EMR Administer medications, treatments, and clinical interventions as prescribed Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans Float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) as required for Med/Surg assignments Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to hospital policies and safety standards Participate in required overtime shifts and holiday coverage as needed
