This role focuses on patient assessment, medication administration, and coordination of care within a hospital-based Med Surg setting. Responsibilities • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans. • Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-operative patients. • Administer medications, initiate IV therapy, and perform wound care. • Monitor vital signs and patient responses, reporting changes promptly. • Assist with discharge planning and patient education. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record. • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support patient outcomes. Requirements • Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical experience – Required • Acute care hospital or post-acute facility experience accepted • Most recent Med Surg experience must be within the past year • Experience with physical assessment, IV therapy, post-operative care, and telemetry monitoring • EPIC EMR experience – Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required Certifications • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required (Queens only) License • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License – Required • Primary Source Verification – Required Facility Details • Hospital-based Medical-Surgical unit supporting adult inpatient care Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
