Telemedicine Med-Surg RN

This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
12-hour day shifts with the option to pick up extra 8-hour shifts. Every other weekend is required.
Job Description
The Telemedicine Med-Surg RN will provide acute care in the medical-surgical telemetry unit. Responsibilities include managing a telemetry patient population and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient care. The RN will engage in continuous monitoring and assessment, responding actively to telemetry device readings.
Responsibilities
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings; apply appropriate interventions.
• Manage post-operative and chronic conditions, including COPD, CHF, and diabetic patients.
• Conduct patient assessments, including NG tube and peripheral IV insertions.
• Collaborate with nursing and support staff to enhance patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans and health management.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience with at least 1 year in a telemetry specialty.
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Telemetry certification is preferred.
• Must have prior travel experience with a minimum of 2 assignments in 300+ bed facilities.
• Epic experience from within the past 2 years is required.
