SHIFT: Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8AM - 5PM, Friday 8AM-12PMSTART: ASAPRATE: $80MINIMUM School diploma or equivalent.Current American Heart Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) card.Obtain Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) per regulations of OCN boardLicensure: Current New Mexico State Registered Nurse Licensure.Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.Experience working in a Physician office preferred.Chemo certification in an infusion practiceBasic computer skillsStrong written and verbal skills; able to communicate effectively in EnglishPerforms related responsibilities as assigned.Blocked scheduling accommodated?NoWeekend RequirementNoOn Call RequirementNoFloating Requirement / LocationsNoPOSITION patient care and assistance to provider(s). Demonstrates proficiency and independence in the care of patients and their families/significant others by applying and documenting the nursing process; assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. Consults with staff, physicians and management on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Continues to learn new skills and maintains clinical competency within the department to provide direct and safe patient care. This description is not intended to be a complete list of duties. JOB SPECIFIC knowledge and skills necessary to provide services based on the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and other related criteria appropriate population in his/her assigned areaMaintains required core competencies. Complies with set Policies and Procedures (i.e. name tag, dress code, parking, smoking, etc.).Experience in a medical office setting.Must display respect, compassion, courteous and professional behavior at all times in contact with patients, visitors, employees, and medical staff.Assist Doctor with patients.Demonstrate knowledge in a medical office by proper use of equipment and patient treatment(s) specific to specialty or office practice.Anticipate doctor s needs for each patient based upon patient treatment plan/guidelines.Verifies that patient results, x-rays, labs and procedure reports are in patient charts prior to seeing doctor.Gather patient s vitals and reason for visit and, document in patient medical record.Maintains accuracy in phone triage, message sharing and other means of communication by returning patient phone calls within 24 hrs and prescription refill requests within 72 hrs. per office standards. Complete lab requisition forms and assure that specimens are sent to correct labs per patient insurance contract. Maintains exam room and procedure room supplies and instruments. Rooms and work area must be kept clean, organized and appropriately stocked.Perform minor procedures as directed by Physician: included but not limited to: injections, suture, and staple removal. Demonstrated by maintaining competencies in skill sets.Adheres to established medication management protocols to meet patient safety guidelines (secured narcotics, medication samples, waste, expired medications, including accessing and maintaining ports and central lines, phlebotomy).If applicable: provides ordered infusion treatments in a safe and appropriate timeframe while monitoring the patient condition and any changes. Reports outcomes to appropriate provider in a timely manner and documents findings.Maintains skill sets to float to other Physician Practices on an as-needed basis.Supports the nursing philosophy of caring by acting as a patient advocate; including patient s family in care; setting aside personal values to provide patient care by respecting patient s cultural and religious beliefs.COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL communication skills necessary to interact with persons of varying age and/or cultures. Answers telephone as assigned, routes calls or takes messages appropriately.Supports the Mission and Philosophy of the hospital and the Department. Demonstrates an understanding and application of these policies.Respects confidentiality.Maintains professional relationships with co-workers and providers in work environment.Utilizes chain of command appropriately to resolve issues (i.e., site supervisor, Physician Practice Manager or clinical liaison).Can be relied to work assigned shifts (refers to absenteeism). Schedules personal appointments and vacations per hospital policies.Supports a healthy work environment by reporting for duty and returning from breaks on time; performing duties to best of abilities; requesting additional training if needed to support job function expectations.QUALITY IMPROVEMENT / LEGAL ImprovementParticipates in hospital quality activities as required.Participates in department quality activities as required.The employee will adhere to organizational/-departmental customer service standards.Demonstrates understanding of Legal Compliance issues and their responsibilities for same.Participates in yearly legal compliance training.Explains departmental chain of command.Explains purpose of Legal Compliance Hotline and utilizes if indicated.Participates in departmental Legal Compliance plan.Attended Orientation/Re-OrientationCompleted Annual Department CompetenciesPROFESSIONAL positive public relations for the department and the hospital.Presents self in a professional manner; assists in community service programs as requested.Attends a minimum of 75% of required department meetings, in-services and educational programs.Maintains personal professional behavior by not participating in gossip or negative conduct when representing the facility.Demonstrates and encourages teamwork as demonstrated by asking for information or assistance from others when necessary.Participates in facility opportunities such as: volunteering for the Community Health Fair, open houses, Relay for Life, Shared Table, annual employee picnic and Christmas party, ETE teams or other community events supported by the Practice or hospital.Show more
