Estimated Weekly Pay: $1570 - $1680 PCU Registered Nurse Job Details Location: Lorain, Ohio (zip 44053) – Ohio healthcare jobs Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown – 33 beds Shift: 12-hour nights Hours per Week: 36 Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 2/28/2026) Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 on nights (acuity dependent) Patient Population: Cardiac Telemetry, Vascular, Med-Surg, Post Cath, Post Pacemakers Ancillary Support: PCAs, unit secretary, phlebotomy Scrubs: Navy blue Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license in Ohio or compact state (required) Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience (required) BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification (required) Dysrhythmia Exam (required; study guide available) Travel nursing experience not required EPIC EHR experience (preferred) Critical Care Course, CCRN, or PCCN certification (preferred) PCU Nurse Responsibilities Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate treatment outcomes Administer medications and manage cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amio, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Lasix, Heparin, Insulin) Monitor and manage lines, drains, and devices (PICC, dialysis catheters, PEG tubes, ostomies, foleys, chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vacs) Provide advanced airway management (Trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, Heated High Flow, nasal cannulas) Read and verify telemetry strips once per shift using EPIC EHR Serve as a patient safety advocate and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams Educate patients and families, coordinate care, and support coping with illness or injury Respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions and medical emergencies Maintain professionalism, practice self-care, and uphold privacy and infection control standards
