PCU Nursing Job Details
• Location: Pocatello, Idaho (83201) – Idaho nursing jobs
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown / Telemetry
• Facility: 24-bed unit, comprehensive stroke center, Level II Trauma, Chest Pain Accredited
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: April 6, 2026
• Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Shifts: 3x12-hour night shifts per week (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Staffing Ratio: Typically 1:3 or 1:4
• Charting: Epic EMR (Epic experience required)
• 100-mile radius rule: Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility
Registered Nurse Qualifications
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Idaho or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, Stepdown, or Telemetry nursing experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Epic charting experience required
• Proficient in blood product administration, central line care, dysrhythmia interpretation, non-invasive airway management, and rapid response/code team participation
• Ability to manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Must meet 100-mile radius requirement (no local candidates)
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients on a busy PCU/Stepdown/Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; respond to changes promptly
• Administer blood products and manage central/peripheral lines
• Implement isolation precautions and infection control protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for comprehensive patient care
• Participate in rapid response and code situations
• Document care and interventions accurately using Epic EMR
• Support patients recovering from procedures such as PCI and open-heart surgery
