PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active New Mexico or Compact State RN license (required at time of submission)
Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience (2 years preferred)
Cardiovascular nursing experience required
BLS and ACLS certifications required (CPI preferred)
First-time travel nurses welcome
Willingness to float to similar units as needed
Local candidates within 50 miles not accepted
PCU RN Responsibilities
Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiovascular diagnoses (CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, post-cardiac procedures, etc.)
Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage cardiac drips, and respond to changes in patient condition
Administer blood products, manage central and peripheral IV lines, and perform wound care
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
Document all patient care in EPIC electronic health records system
Participate in rotating weekend coverage and float to similar nursing units as needed
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
