Position Summary:
The PACU Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical and procedural interventions. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, managing pain and sedation levels, assessing recovery status, ensuring airway stability, and providing emotional support to patients and families. The role requires excellent critical thinking skills, rapid assessment capabilities, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced preoperative environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical and procedural interventions.
• Continuously monitor and assess patient vital signs, airway patency, pain levels, and overall recovery progress.
• Manage sedation levels, administer medications as ordered, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Perform rapid assessments, intervene appropriately, and escalate care when necessary.
• Ensure safe recovery from anesthesia, including monitoring for nausea, respiratory distress, hemodynamic instability, and postoperative complications.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 1 year recent PACU or critical care experience
• Active RN license (eligible to submit)
• BLS certification
• Strong Post-anesthesia recovery skills
