Position Requirements:
• Active, unencumbered license in TN
• Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
• Current Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Experience with EPIC EMR system
• Must commit to four (4) shifts per month Job Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity stepdown/telemetry setting, supporting patients with neurological, cardiovascular, endocrine, renal, respiratory, and post-procedural needs.
• Perform and document comprehensive nursing assessments, including NIHSS evaluations and focused neuro assessments for CVA/post-stroke patients.
• Deliver continuous telemetry monitoring, including dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation, with appropriate escalation through Rapid Response/Code Teams as needed.
• Provide care and monitoring for patients recovering from cardiac events and procedures, including post-MI, cardiac angiogram, and pre/post cardiac cath care.
• Administer and monitor IV therapies and medication protocols.
• Perform and manage IV/vascular access care
• Administer blood products and monitor for transfusion reactions and complications per facility protocol.
• Provide care for complex renal and endocrine patients.
• Support patients with GI and nutrition needs, including feeding tube care, medication administration, and intake/output monitoring.
• Provide respiratory support and monitoring.
• Manage post-surgical and specialty patient needs.
• Deliver wound and skin integrity care, including wound care and wound vac management, while maintaining strict adherence to isolation precautions and infection prevention standards.
• Accurately document all care using the EPIC electronic health record system, ensuring compliance with regulatory and facility requirements.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans and ensure safe discharge planning.
• Float to comparable units within the facility as needed, adapting quickly to changing patient acuity and assignments.
• Maintain active RN licensure, BLS/ACLS certifications, and meet all annual competencies, skills validations, and continuing education requirements.
• Adhere to all facility policies, safety protocols, and high-performance standards while delivering compassionate and patient-centered care.
