Key Job Details – Portland, Maine Nursing Jobs • Location: Portland, Maine 04102 • Healthcare Setting: Float Pool (Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, Observation, IMC) • Job Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract • Start Date: February 16, 2026 • End Date: May 16, 2026 • Contract Length: 13 weeks • Shift: 12-hour nights (7P-7A) • Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week • Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) • Free Parking • Scrub Color: Any professional color (scrubs not provided) Registered Nurse Qualifications • Active RN license in Maine or compact state (required for travel nursing jobs) • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Medical/Surgical or Telemetry nursing • BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association • Clinical proficiency in cardiac drip management (Heparin, Diltiazem), cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV starts, chest tube and trach care, central/PICC line care • Experience caring for adult patient populations: CHF, COPD, Stroke, Diabetes, Post-op, Urological, Vascular, GYN, Breast, and more • Ability to float between hospital units as needed • Strong communication and teamwork skills • First-time travel nurses not accepted RN Responsibilities – Telemetry & Float Pool • Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients across multiple clinical units • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage cardiac drips • Perform IV starts, chest tube and tracheostomy care, and central/PICC line maintenance • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and support staff • Document patient care using Cerner EMR; utilize GE monitors and Pyxis medication systems • Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled • Support and mentor MD/RN students as needed • Maintain professionalism and adhere to facility policies Apply now to join our healthcare team and take the next step in your travel nursing career in Portland, Maine.
