Position Summary
The Wound Care Registered Nurse will provide specialized assessment, treatment, and management for patients with acute and chronic wounds, ostomies, and continence needs. This role requires strong clinical knowledge, excellent assessment skills, and the ability to manage a focused caseload in an outpatient-style setting. The RN will collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality wound care.
Unit Details
• Unit: Wound/Ostomy/Continence
• Care Setting: Outpatient/Clinic
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 0–5
• Charting System: EPIC
• Special Procedures: Compression wraps, total contact casting, wound VAC
Roles & Responsibilities
• Perform comprehensive wound assessments and develop appropriate care plans
• Provide wound treatments, including dressing changes, compression therapy, and negative pressure wound therapy
• Assist with debridement procedures and graft applications
• Manage ostomy care, patient education, and appliance fitting
• Monitor healing progress and adjust care plans based on patient response
• Conduct intake, triage, and telephone assessments as needed
Required Qualifications
• Active GA RN License or Compact RN License
• BLS (AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of recent wound care experience
• Competency in wound treatments, ostomy management, and dressing techniques
• Strong clinical assessment skills
