TheraEX Staffing Services is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Devils Lake, North Dakota.

NO CLINICAL INVOLVEMENT

- # of Suites: 1 endoscopy suite, 2 ORs
- Average # of cases per day: 5 endoscopy/day M-F, 9 cataracts every other wednesday, approx 3 scheduled c-sections/month, 1-2 podiatry cases every Monday
- Common Cases: Endoscopy, C-Sections, D&Cs, Cataract Extractions, Podiatry, Resterilization of Surgical Instruments
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: endoscopy and c-section experience preferred, but not required, scrub or willingness to learn to scrub required
- How many years exp required?: 2 preferred, but not required
- Previous travel exp required?: preferred, but not required
- Is scrubbing required for RNs?: willingness to learn preferred, but not required
- Is there a manager/Charge Nurse on each shift?: Yes - working OR supervisor and also a 24/7 house nurse coordinator
- Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: the OR supervisor shares the workload with the scheduled staff
- OR techs?: 1 CST, but RN's have cross trained to scrub/resterilize and perform all OR tech roles
- EMR: Meditech 6
- Shifts & Scheduling: Monday-Friday 6a-2:30p with 1 in 3 on call after hours
- Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?: Block scheduling
- Weeknight/Call Requirements: 1-2 nights of call required during the week
- Weekend/Call Requirements: every 3rd weekend
- Holiday/Call Requirements: rotating holiday call coverage - 6 recognized CHI holidays
- What is call response time: 20 mins, but we respond ASAP
- Floating Requirements : if we don't have surgical cases we float to the admission/discharge side of surgery to help with outpatient IV therapy, wound dressing changes, and blood products transfusion
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: ceil blue - we provide hospital scrubs but staff can bring their own ceil blue scrubs if they wish and we will launder them in house
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1-2 weeks for usual caseload, variable length for buddy on-call orientation depending on how many surgical cases we get called in for and comfort level of new staff

Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
