Position: IMC - RN - OR
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Pay Rate: $ 65/hr
Schedule: 5 Days per week X 8 hours per day

Duties:
-Responsible and accountable for utilizing the nursing process in the provision of patient care.
-Operating Room Nurse is responsible for the planning, execution, conducting and evaluating both direct and indirect nursing care to surgical patients.
-The duties range from preoperative interventions to post-operative assessments that could help meet a patient's need throughout the operative care.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, cognitive, and cultural diversity of the patient.
-Determines mobility, sensory deficits, prostheses use, and skin condition and adjusts plan of care, as appropriate.
-Responsible for supervising and directing patient care in the operating suite while ensuring proper techniques are used.
-Maintains count on sponges, needles and other instruments used in the operating room.
-Collaborates as appropriate with physician and other clinical disciplines in planning interventions to meet patient and family needs.
-Operating Room Nurse also serves as a scrub nurse when necessary.
-Intervenes with proper technique, procedure and safety precautions to meet individual needs of patients and families.

Requirements:
-A minimum of 3 years' experience in an Operating Room setting.
-Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written.
-Good interpersonal and communication skills.
-Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
Preferred Education: -Master's Degree in Nursing, preferred.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
-New York State RN License.
-BLS required.

Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined. Posted job title: IMC - RN - OR
