TheraEX Staffing Services is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
• *Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.**
• *Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract
• * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * *
- # of Beds: 33
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients : Young adults through geriatrics, sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, COVID, stroke, renal failure, COPD, DKA, patients with complex medical issues including multisystem failure
- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, Insulin; maintenance doses of IV meds (non titratable)
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: CNAs 1:10 ratio- available CNAs fluctuates based on unit census
- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.): BiPAP, Airvo
- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Yes, RNs must read and interpret
- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 0630-1900, 1830-0700 // Unit schedulers will make travelers schedule
- Weekend Requirements: Every other
- Holiday Requirements: As needed to meet unit needs
- Floating Requirements: Can float to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care
- Scrub Color/Dress code: RN: Navy Blue
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: First week classroom then 2-12 hour shifts on the floor
- Additional Notes: Busy patient flow- admitting and discharging within the same 6 hour time frame while also completing shift change. Attributes that will help make a nurse successful on this unit are a strong sense of teamwork, friendly, positive can-do attitude, engagement in positive patient experience with commitment to bedside report and hourly rounding

RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
