ARMStaffing is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Newark, New Jersey. Schedule Night shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend required. Job Description The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Stepdown Unit will provide care to patients experiencing various cardiac conditions, including management of heart, lung, and kidney transplant patients, pulmonary hypertension, and post-operative care. Strong LVAD experience is required, along with proficiency in titration of insulin and cardiac drips. Responsibilities • Deliver high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced stepdown environment. • Manage complex patient needs, including drug overdose and neurologic assessments. • Administer treatments and medications as prescribed, including IV insulin protocols and cardiac drips. • Monitor patients for changes in health status and respond accordingly. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown setting. • Strong Level II trauma center experience required; Level I preferred. • Active New Jersey or Compact nursing license. • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. • Proficient in using Epic charting system.
