Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit • Discipline: RN • Start Date: • Duration: 12 weeks • 36 hours per week • Shift: 12 hours, days • Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Job Details: • Work in Progressive Care Unit with float requirements to Medical Surgery units • Every other weekend schedule required • Patient ratios of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends (PCU ratio noted as 1:5) • 2 years of nursing experience required • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS • Alabama nursing license required • Must have experience with MS/Tele, Telemetry, and PCU/Stepdown units • Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required • Must be able to start IVs and manage Heparin protocols • Manage cardiac drips without titration responsibilities • Skills include telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias • Blood product administration and central/peripheral line care • Use of rapid response/code teams • Oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management • Isolation precautions and PPE protocols • Charting system experience required • First time travelers accepted • Weekend coverage required • Maximum 7 days requested time off allowed Facility: This healthcare facility operates a Progressive Care Unit that provides intermediate-level care for patients requiring closer monitoring than general medical floors but less intensive care than ICU patients.
