Job Description and Requirements • Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit • Discipline: RN • Start Date: ASAP • Duration: 13 weeks • 36 hours per week • Shift: 12 hours, nights • Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Cardiac Tele Stepdown Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM • Weekend requirement: every other weekend for travelers • Average patient ratios 1:5 (can flex up to 1:6) • Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA) • Must be able to read cardiac strips independently • Care for post heart cath patients, TR bands, CHF, COPD, post pacers, and arrhythmias • Titrate Heparin drips and occasionally Lasix or Bumex • Perform own admissions and discharges with approximately 8-12 discharges and 8-12 admissions per day • Must be able to perform EKGs when PCT unable to assist • Royal blue scrubs required - scrub jackets permitted but no hoodies or sweat jackets • Two-day orientation: one day computer training followed by one day floor shadowing • Subject to floating anywhere in hospital within skillset • Fast-paced environment with strong teamwork emphasis • Epic charting system used • BSN not required • Must submit unexpired copy of driver's license with application Facility: This medical center features a 43-bed cardiac telemetry stepdown unit with both semi-private and private rooms.
