Travel Nursing Job Details
• Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) – Cardiac Stepdown
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (option to extend up to 16 weeks)
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Hours per Week: 36 or 48 hours available
• Employment Type: Travel RN contract
• On-Site Position
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780 - $1910
Registered Nurse Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience (travel nursing experience required)
• Active Virginia or Compact Registered Nurse license (required at start)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Complete work history with explanations for any gaps over 90 days
• Skills checklist and copy of Nursys/license required for submission
• Ability to work 2 of 3 winter holidays (no Christmas holiday RTO)
• Charge nurse experience and Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Local candidates within 60 miles not eligible
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality nursing care to med-surg, telemetry, cardiac IMCU, neuro, and CVA patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, students, and new hires in a teaching hospital setting
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and perform clinical interventions
• Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR (preferred)
• Participate in orientation and ongoing nursing education
• Support a culture of teamwork, learning, and patient-centered care
