Travel Nursing Job Details
• Location: Clinton, Maryland (20735) – Greater Washington, D.C. area
• Job Title: Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Healthcare Setting: Intermediate Care/Cardiac Stepdown Unit
• Shifts: Rotating Day (07:00 - 19:30) and Night (19:00 - 07:30); 3x12-hour shifts/week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1610 - $1730
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Start Date: December 1, 2025
• End Date: March 2, 2026
• Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Float Requirement: ICU and Med Surg float as needed
• Scrub Color: Ceil Blue (not provided)
• Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown, IMC, or acute care RN experience
• Active Registered Nurse license (Maryland or compact state)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR charting system
• Strong clinical skills in cardiac telemetry, IV therapy/phlebotomy, CVA care, respiratory care, and management of cardiac/respiratory drips (no titration)
• Successful completion of Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (minimum 80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)
• Two supervisor references required
• Flu vaccine required prior to start
• First-time travel nurses welcome
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Cardiac Stepdown/IMC unit
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry for cardiac patients
• Administer IV therapies, blood products, and manage central/PICC lines
• Deliver respiratory support, including trach care, high-flow nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
• Float to ICU and Med Surg units as required
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services)
• Participate in rapid response/code teams and maintain isolation precautions
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
• Work every other weekend and holiday as scheduled
