• Location: North Charleston, South Carolina (29406) – South Carolina nursing jobs
• Healthcare Setting: Ambulatory/Inpatient – 23-Hour Observation Unit
• Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: April 6, 2026
• Duration: 13-week travel assignment
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (Monday–Thursday, 5:00pm–5:30am)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1530–$1570
• Patient Population: Adults and Pediatrics
• Unit Census: 5 beds, low daily census
• Scrub Color: Royal or Navy Blue
• Charting System: Epic EMR
Registered Nurse Qualifications
• Active South Carolina or Compact State RN license (required prior to start)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Stepdown RN or Observation Unit nursing experience
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (all required)
• Previous travel nurse experience required
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Ability to float within scope to sister healthcare facilities as needed
• Strong clinical assessment, patient teaching, and critical thinking skills
• Completion of all compliance and orientation requirements prior to start
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in a 23-hour observation and cardiac stepdown setting
• Monitor cardiac and post-surgical patients, administer medications, and perform comprehensive assessments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including pharmacy and clinical support staff
• Utilize Epic EMR for accurate documentation and patient care coordination
• Provide patient education, discharge planning, and ensure safe transitions of care
• Float to sister healthcare facilities as needed to support patient care demands
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
