Opportunity: RN - ER Job Details: • Maine nursing license or compact license required • BSN degree preferred • Current, unexpired certifications required: BLS (required), ACLS (preferred) • Required immunizations: varicella 2 doses or titer, HepB 3 doses or titer or declination, MMR 2 doses or titer, Tdap, PPD 2 step or titer within past 12 months, flu shot during flu season • Report to Human Resources on day 1 for onboarding process • Perform initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments for all age groups • Develop and implement patient care plans based on needs and physician orders • Document patient care activities according to established standards and hospital policies • Administer medications correctly utilizing the five rights through med verify system • Provide patient and family education and discharge planning • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and bedside rounding • Maintain patient and staff safety in the work environment • Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting up to 30 lbs, pushing patients in wheelchairs and stretchers • Exposure to infectious diseases, blood borne pathogens, and toxic cleaning chemicals possible • Participate in emergency/disaster preparedness planning and drills • Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts within 12 weeks Facility: This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive emergency department providing critical care services to the community.
