Job Description and Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg • Discipline: RN • Start Date: 02/24/2026 • Duration: 13 weeks • 36 hours per week • Shift: 12 hours, nights • Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Work 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts with guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 3x12s or 48 hours for 4x12s • Float position that can be floated to inpatient PCU unit - PCU experience required • Acuity adaptable unit with patients ranging from Med Surg to PCU/stepdown/ICU level of care • Patient ratios range from 1:4-6 depending on acuity type and patient needs • Boarding unit where patients come from ED and are boarded until discharge or moved to inpatient unit • 4-bed unit that can expand to 8-10 beds with staffing adjusted based on acuity and need • Team nursing with RN/LPN - must be comfortable with delegation and working with LPNs • High-paced environment with up to 15 admissions per day due to constant turnover • Every other weekend requirement • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays • 2 years of experience required with travel experience required • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH • Cerner charting system experience required • Must be comfortable with telemetry, central line care, PICC line management, PCA, blood product administration, and various cardiac procedures • Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including CVA, cardiac conditions, and various medical/surgical conditions • Floating is 100% required - may float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals • First-time travelers not accepted • Local candidates not accepted Facility: This healthcare facility operates as a major medical center providing comprehensive inpatient services with specialized acuity adaptable units.
