Job Description
We are a Baby Friendly Designated Hospital with a highly collaborative and engaging team. The OB/Labor and Delivery RN will be responsible for overseeing the care of patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages. This role requires exceptional multitasking and critical thinking skills due to the dynamic environment of the department.
Responsibilities
• Triage obstetrical patients.
• Provide labor and delivery care.
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and vaginal deliveries.
• Conduct routine postpartum and newborn care.
• Manage medication and IV therapy, including Pitocin (Oxytocin) and Magnesium Sulfate.
• Conduct discharge teaching for parents.
• Perform neonatal assessments and resuscitation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support services.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• 1.5 years of nursing experience, preferably in Labor and Delivery.
• Current RN License (West Virginia or compact license pending acceptable).
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP (NRP preferred), AWHONN Intermediate.
• Ability to provide care for low and high-risk obstetrical patients.
