The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting a safe and supportive environment for both patients and staff. Responsibilities • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission. • Collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to identify teaching needs and goals. • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with policy. • Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and ensure quality patient care through the nursing process. • Initiate discharge planning on all patients from the day of admission. • Communicate changes in patient status to support continuity of care. • Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel. • Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies. • Support a positive work environment and participate in team-building activities on the unit. • Maintain communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, and clinical training. • Assume charge responsibility as needed. • Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure • BLS Certification required prior to first shift. • ACLS required prior to first shift (specific to certain locations). • Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
