Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, and embraces the Select Medical Way and Core Values of the Company, ensuring patient and employee safety.
Responsibilities
• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and prioritize patient education.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission.
• Communicate patient status changes to care providers for continuity of care.
• Provide training and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety per hospital policies.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested.
• Pursue professional development through continuing education.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years bedside clinical experience required.
