Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our interdisciplinary team. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing and managing care for patients through the application of the nursing process.
Shift Details
• Schedule: 4x12 hour night shifts
• No on-call requirements
• Weekend rotation: Every other weekend, including holidays
• Annual Mandatory Holiday Shifts: Required to work 2 out of the following 3 holidays: Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving
Unit Information
• Patient Ratios: 1:5
• Bed Size: 28
• Common Patient Types: General, thoracic, vascular, uro, gyn, ortho, podiatry
• Telemetry Monitoring: Nurses are trained to read telemetry strips and manage cardiac drips, including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Lasix, and Insulin
• Capability to float across similar medicine-surgery units
Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years of current experience in Medical-Surgical care, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and/or post-operative care in a hospital setting
• Experience in reading telemetry strips is required
• EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) experience is necessary
• Experience with patient management related to PCA's, epidurals, chest tubes, and continuous bladder irrigation (CBIs)
Qualifications
• Current and valid Iowa nursing license
• BLS certification
• Strong clinical skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Proven track record of effective patient care
Location

This position is based in Iowa, with a minimum distance requirement of 50 miles for non-local candidates.
Contract Details
• Contract Duration: 91 days
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
