Job Description and Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit • Discipline: RN • Start Date: 03/02/2026 • Duration: 13 weeks • 36 hours per week • Shift: 12 hours, nights • Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - ICU Neuro Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM • Maintain 1:2 patient ratio with daily census of 10 patients • Work every other weekend as required • Float to other ICUs when Neuro ICU is overstaffed or other units are critically understaffed • Self-scheduling system with one pre-approved time off request allowed • 24-hour orientation period required • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI • Preferred certification: NIHSS • Epic experience required • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required • First-time travelers accepted • Dress code: Royal blue scrubs • Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted) • No call-ins allowed - strict attendance policy • Louisiana or Compact nursing license required upon submission • NURSYS report required (must be within 4 weeks of submission) • Care for adult neurosurgery ICU patients • Perform frequent neuro checks and assist with CT/MRI transport • Manage external ventricular drains (EVDs) and specialized neuro equipment • Participate in emergency team assignments during facility emergencies as directed by unit manager Facility: This academic medical center is a leading healthcare institution that provides comprehensive neurological intensive care services.
