Operating Room Tech Job Details • Assignment Type: Travel healthcare contract • Location: Paducah, KY 42003 (Western Kentucky) • Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/11/2025 – End: 3/12/2026) • Shift: Day Shift, 5x8-hour shifts/week (06:30 – 15:00) • Call: 1 night/week, every 3rd weekend • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (approx. 6-7 weekends per contract) • Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics • Setting: Orthopedic and General Surgery Operating Room (15 OR rooms) • Estimated Weekly Salary: $2120 - $2180 Certified Surgical First Assistant Qualifications • Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CFA) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with strong orthopedic background • Formal CST education required – must provide technical diploma from CST training (no on-the-job training accepted) • Active CST and CSFA certification through NBSTSA • Current BLS certification • Experience with Epic charting system preferred • Community hospital experience required • Ability to float to different units as needed • References: 2 required • COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed) Operating Room Tech Responsibilities • Assist in surgical procedures including General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Dental, GYN, Urology, Plastics, Neuro, Ortho/Spine, Vascular, and DaVinci Robotics • Provide technical support for advanced procedures: CABG, valve replacements, aortic repairs, thoracotomies, and robotic surgeries • Scrub and set up sterile fields, handle surgical instruments, and support surgeons during procedures • Apply aseptic technique, assist with wound closure, tissue manipulation, and instrument processing • Participate in call rotation and provide weekend coverage as scheduled • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory services, transportation, and unit secretaries • Maintain accurate documentation using Epic (preferred) Discover rewarding healthcare jobs in Kentucky and experience the charm of Paducah while working in a supportive hospital environment.
