Job Description and Requirements • Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit • Discipline: RN • Start Date: 02/23/2026 • Duration: 13 weeks • 36 hours per week • Shift: 12 hours, nights • Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Job Details: • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position with Medical/Surgical and Telemetry focus • 2 years of nursing experience required with 1 full year of specialty experience within past 12 months • Patient ratios of 5:1 for both day and night shifts • 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday) • Regular floating required between departments, units and facilities as needed • Guaranteed minimum of 3 shifts per 13-week contract • Maximum 7 days request time off allowed • Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS • Must have Kansas and Missouri licenses or Compact license at submission • Epic charting system experience required • Care for post-operative bariatric surgery patients, complex urology cases, hepatobiliary procedures, colorectal surgeries, and trauma patients • Manage patients with epidurals, PCAs, ketamine drips, lidocaine infusions, multiple drains, and wound vacs • Handle continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) and long-term catheter care • Wound care and wound vac changes for necrotizing soft tissue infections • Care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations • Complete 3 hours of pre-start EMR modules and additional orientation modules • Infusion pump and glucometer training must be completed prior to start date Facility: This healthcare facility is a comprehensive medical center specializing in complex surgical procedures and post-operative care.
