Job Description and Requirements • Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit • Discipline: RN • Start Date: 02/23/2026 • Duration: 13 weeks • 36 hours per week • Shift: 12 hours, nights • Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Job Details: • Patient ratio of 1:6 on all shifts • Minimum 8 weekend shifts required per 6 weeks • Holiday coverage required if holiday falls on scheduled days • Regular floating may be required between departments, units and facilities as needed • Maximum 7 days request time off allowed • Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks • 2 years of recent specialty experience required with full year of in-specialty experience within past 12 months • No gap in employment greater than 90 days in the past year • BLS certification required, CRRT preferred • Epic charting system experience required • 12 hours of orientation provided • Navy blue scrubs required for RNs • Kansas and Missouri licenses or compact required at time of submission • Must live at least 75 miles from facility (locals not accepted) • Skills required: Use of Rapid Response Teams, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care and management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, ortho trauma, external CPAP/BIPAP, interpretation of ABGs, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy management, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac • Serve adult and geriatric patient populations • 30-bed acute med surg unit with emphasis on rehab services Facility: This healthcare facility operates a 30-bed Progressive Care Unit specializing in acute medical-surgical care with an emphasis on rehabilitation services. The facility maintains an average daily census of 24-30 patients and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services. The facility utilizes modern equipment including lift equipment and maintains high standards for patient care across multiple specialty areas.
