Units Included: Med Surg, Tele, PCU, ICU• May float to ED only if ED experience• No floating to LandD• No Peds required (helpful but not required)Ratios:• Med Surg/Tele: 1:6–7• PCU: Days 1:4 | Nights 1:4–5• ICU: 1:1–2 (1:3 if overflow)Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSSPatient Populations:• ICU: STEMI, CVA (TPA), sepsis, multi-organ failure, arrest, DKA, post-vascular, COVID (no IABP/Impella unless proficient)• PCU: COPD, CHF, post-cath, pacers, ablations, A-Fib RVR, STEMI/NSTEMI, CVA/TIA, chest pain• Med Surg: General MS, ortho (total joints), oncology admissions and chemo, overflowRequired Skills:• Cardiac telemetry interpretation• Strong ortho experience• Chest pain and post-heart cath experience (for higher acuity)Drips:• Full critical care drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, heparin, insulin, nitro, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Precedex, dopamine/dobutamineSupport and Equipment:• Charge RN may take assignment | House Supervisor 24/7• CNAs/LPNs based on unit• RT: CPAP/BiPAP (OSA only) on MS/Tele/PCU; full vent support in ICU• Monitor techs assist; RNs must read stripsSchedule:• 3×12s – Days or Nights (7–7:30)• Block schedules may be considered (not guaranteed)• Weekends: Every 3rd• Holidays: Rotated with perm staff• Call: Typically none (voluntary if low census)Assignment Process:• Daily assignment sheet near float pool breakroom• Unit assignment may be given day of shift• Schedules posted 6 weeks in advanceDress Code: Pewter Gray scrubs (Cherokee Pewter Gray reference)Orientation: 2 shifts with a preceptorAdditional Note: Traveler must return Vocera, badge, and equipment each shift—lost items may be charged.
