A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: RN - OR ICU/SICU Job Details: • Work in 16-bed SICU (651) unit with 1:2 patient ratios • 13-week assignment with 36 guaranteed hours per week • Flexible scheduling with assignments made one month in advance • Assignments based on patient acuity and skill level • Floating required as needed • Must have 2+ years ICU experience • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS • CCRN certification preferred • Active Texas RN license required (temporary licenses not accepted) • Experience with CRRT and hypothermia protocols preferred • Meditech documentation system experience preferred • Work with all ICU equipment including ventilators, NXStage, Arctic Sun, GE Cardiac Output monitors • Perform central line placements, bedside procedures like thoracentesis, dialysis catheter placements, cardioversions, intubations and other ICU procedures • Care for surgical population, especially oncology patients • Dress code: Royal blue scrubs required • No artificial nails, gel, or nail extensions permitted • Hair must be neat and pulled back if shoulder length or longer • Body art should be covered when possible • No visible piercings other than ears Facility: This major healthcare facility operates a specialized 16-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit providing critical care services for complex surgical patients.
