Job Description and Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg • Discipline: RN • Start Date: ASAP • Duration: 13 weeks • 36 hours per week • Shift: 12 hours, days • Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Provide nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex under general supervision • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments • Assist physicians in examination of patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments • Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients and intervene when necessary • Administer medications as prescribed and manage intravenous infusions and blood products • Interact with families and patients regarding care plans during hospitalization and at discharge • Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel • Delegate tasks to support staff • Must have Medical Surgical and Step Down experience • Travel experience and Level 1 Charge experience preferred • 1 year of nursing experience required • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred • Current Oklahoma RN License or multistate compact RN License (eNLC) required • Current Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association required • Strong verbal and written communication skills needed • Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors • Computer skills required Facility: This major academic medical center serves as a premier healthcare institution providing comprehensive medical services and advanced patient care.
