Travel Registered Nurse Wound Care Job in Arcata, CA
Job Description
Location Benefits:
Arcata offers a distinctive blend of professional fulfillment and coastal charisma. You’ll work in a community known for its medical teams that collaborate across disciplines, patient advocacy that puts families first, and a focus on holistic healing. The region’s temperate climate, proximity to lush redwood forests, and access to pristine beaches create an inviting backdrop for your daily rounds and downtime alike. For those drawn to variety, this role also provides opportunities to work across other locations in the United States, enabling exposure to diverse patient populations, facilities, and wound care protocols. You’ll gain culturally rich experiences, expand your clinical network, and enjoy safer commutes in a community oriented toward wellness and sustainability. Arcata’s walkable neighborhoods, nearby parks, and a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere make it easier to recharge after shifts while continuing to grow as a wound care clinician who stays at the forefront of best practices.
Role Specifics and Benefits:
As a dedicated Wound Care RN, you’ll be responsible for comprehensive wound assessment, accurate staging, and the development of evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs. Your responsibilities will include monitoring progress, performing appropriate dressing changes, debridement when indicated, pressure injury prevention strategies, infection control, and meticulous documentation to ensure continuity of care. You’ll collaborate with physicians, surgeons, case managers, physical therapists, and home health teams to coordinate care transitions and optimize healing timelines. You’ll provide patient and family education on wound care at home, dressing techniques, nutrition, activity modification, and warning signs that require prompt attention. This role is designed for growth—opportunities to advance your expertise in negative pressure therapy, advanced wound VAC management, complex diabetic foot care, and ostomy/continence support may be available as you demonstrate clinical leadership and a commitment to continuous learning.
Benefits you can expect include a competitive weekly compensation range of $2,052 to $2,075, with guaranteed 40 hours per week, and a contract length measured in weeks with the flexibility to extend based on performance and facility needs. A sign-on or completion bonus may be offered, along with robust housing assistance to ease travel logistics and shorten the time to your first patient encounter in a new location. We prize longevity and commitment, and extension opportunities are part of the pathway for nurses who excel in documentation, patient outcomes, and interdisciplinary collaboration. During travel, you’ll have 24/7 support from a dedicated team—ready to assist with housing, transportation, licensing, or on-site needs—so you can focus on delivering top-tier wound care without unnecessary distraction. The role also supports professional growth through continuing education, specialty certifications, and mentorship from experienced wound care clinicians who guide your progression and celebrate your successes.
Company Values:
Our organization is built on empowering nurses to advance their careers within a supportive, patient-first culture. We believe in recognizing expertise, fostering clinical autonomy within evidence-based practice, and investing in environments where nurses feel seen, heard, and valued. You’ll join a team that champions collaboration, encourages innovation, and provides clear pathways for advancement—whether you aim to deepen your wound care specialization, pursue leadership roles, or contribute to program development. Expect constructive feedback, transparent communication, and a culture that prioritizes wellbeing alongside performance. By choosing this role, you align with a company that understands the delicate balance of delivering high-quality care while maintaining a sustainable, fulfilling career.
